Extra enrichment activity using Paint:
Students will create a non verbal t-shirt using Paint.  They will copy and paste the blank t-shirt into Paint and then create a design without using words that illustrates their likes, hobbies, sports, etc.  Review how to print.

Fall and Halloween Lessons

Students choose a story starter from the column at the right of the Fall and Halloween Lessons page and copy and paste into Word.  
Students type their story for 5 minutes.
All students switch seats by moving to the right.
They next student continues typing the story.
Continue switching every 5 minutes.
At the end of class they return to their own seats.  They may insert a clip art picture to go with the story and then Print.

How to use Paint 2010 basics!
How to paint a pizza with Paint 2010

Students will use the paint program to create a drawing of a pizza. Then they will use copy and paste to add different ingredients to their pizza. The children start with a basic shape for the pizza. Then they fill in with a color that reminds them of the pizza crust. We add the sauce using the airbrush tool with the widest spray. Next, we use the thicker paintbrush to add pieces of green pepper. We make one piece of pepperoni and use the copy and paste technique to add more pepperoni to it. You can do the same for mushrooms. Finally, the children use the airbrush technique to add melted cheese as the final topping.

Save.

Week 2:

Students will insert a picture of their pizza into Word.  Students will type a descriptive paragraph about their pizza.  

Teach students how to save and Print.

Teach how to save one on one while others are playing game.

Kidspiration:
Students will use Kidspiration to make a web showing the four seasons.  They will use the writing tool to  then type one sentence about each season.  They will learn how to print.

Have students copy and paste a picture of the Mouse into the Paint program.

Paint something that the Mouse from the story might ask for.  Add a text box that names what was painted.

Assemble the ornaments into the shape of a tree.  Hang paragraphs next to the tree.  Have students read the paragraph and try to guess which ornament the description goes with.
3rd Students will use PowerPoint to insert a photo of themselves and a speech bubble telling what Christmas means to them.  The speech bubble will read, "Christmas is..."  Students will record their voices reading the content of the speech bubble.
