Reading Star to 2nd. Third-Fifth start Type to Learn when the
test is
complete. Second grade does Carnival
Countdown when test is complets. Syring: I give tests and
someone else sets up and runs reports.
Elms: I do everything. Dieck: Teachers give and
someone else runs reports.

1. Model how to insert objects, add text to the objects, and change the color
2. Students will make a poster titled "My Favorites." They
will label shapes with their favorite color, place, season, etc. |

1. Model how to insert objects, add text to the objects, and change the color
2. Students will go to the Enchanted Learning Site and create a
poster about one animal family (mammal, reptile, amphibian, fish, bird,
insect). |

Focus: Character Counts-Six Pillars/Word & inserting objects
1. Model how to insert objects, add text to the objects, and change the color
2. Students will go to the Character Counts Website to Choose one of the 6 Pillars of Character to make a poster about.

Focus: Word/Inserting Objects/Adding Text/Core Dem. Values
1. Show motivational movie that contains samples of CDV posters.

posters.

Lesson 8
| Kindergarten |
Read: "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom."
Students will then use the Paint program to draw a palm tree and add
letter to the picture as if they are running up the tree. Have
students add a text box and type their name.
Students play game while I save their picture (put into a slideshow to share online).

Students will learn about how to write a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
Students will access the PBS Kids Story Factory.
They will insert pictures and type three sentences (one for beginning, middle, and end)
They will print and staple the story.

2 Week Lesson
Use the link to the right to access the Turkey Glyph and Excel Graph.
Week 1: Students will use a glyph to draw a turkey in paint. Save and Print.
Week 2: Students collect data on the data sheet.
Students create a Thanksgiving graph using Excel to display results. |

"Turkeys With Dressing" 2 week lesson
Week 1: Students will design a turkey in Paint showing a career they might be interested in and Save.
Week 2: Students will insert the picture into PowerPoint and insert a speech
bubble. They will type a descritpive paragraph describing the
career the turkey is dressed as.
Copy and Paste the turkey below to Paint.

Students will learn about the Mayflower, Pilgrims, Wampanoag, and First
Thanksgiving by researching using the Scholastic Thanksgiving website
and an E-sheet.

Students will learn about the 5 parts of a letter and use MS Word to write letters to send to overseas American soldiers.
1. Model the five parts of a letter:
- Heading (address and date in top right corner)
- Greeting (Dear, Hello, or To, and comma)
- Body (content of letter)
- Closing (From, Your Friend, and comma)
- Signature
2. Students type a letter to an American soldier. Print.
3. I will mail them to soldiers currently stationed in Afghanistan. |
