3rd Lesson 1	All Grades: 1. Go over lab rules and meet the teacher by watching this PowerPoint: Computer Lab Expectations or PowerPoint called Computer Lab Expectations (Slideshare) 2. Play Stump the Students to reinforce rules. (or view on Slideshare, click on get file from above player) Pass out name cards, assign student seats, write thier name and computer number on the card. 3. Have students Explore Paint 4. 3rd Lesson 2	Lesson 2/ Week 1 Objectives: Students will learn to use MS Paint and the tools in the program to design Pizza. Students will learn how to Print and Save Standards: 3-5.CI.2. use a variety of technology tools and applications to demonstrate his/her creativity by creating or modifying works of art, music, movies, or presentations Vocabulary: Program, MS Paint, Copy, Paste, Toolbar, Print, Save Anticipatory Set & Teaching Input/Modeling: Students watch the following tutorial to view directions: How to paint a pizza with Paint 2010 Activity: Students will use the paint program to create a drawing of a pizza. Then they will use copy and paste to add different ingredients to their pizza. The children start with a basic shape for the pizza. Then they fill in with a color that reminds them of the pizza crust. We add the sauce using the airbrush tool with the widest spray. Next, we use the thicker paintbrush to add pieces of green pepper. We make one piece of pepperoni and use the copy and paste technique to add more pepperoni to it. You can do the same for mushrooms. Finally, the children use the airbrush technique to add melted cheese as the final topping. Teach students to Save. Assessment: Teacher Observation Lesson 3/Week 2: Objectives: Students will insert a picture of their pizza into Word. Students will type a descriptive paragraph about their pizza. Standards: 3-5-2.CC.3. use a variety of media and formats to create and edit products (e.g., presentations, newsletters, brochures, web pages) to communicate information and ideas to various audiences Anticipatory Set & Teaching Input/Modeling: Teacher will model how to insert the picture of the pizza into Word and how to type a descriptive paragraph. Activity: Students will insert a picture of their pizza into Word. Students will type a descriptive paragraph about their pizza. Teach students how to save and Print. Assessment: Finished product will display the pizza created with Paint and a descriptive paragraph typed in Word.
3rd Lesson 3		Extra lesson to go with space theme: Students will learn about constellations and create thier own. See example below: 1. Watch Constellations (45 seconds) The Stars and Seasons (1 minute) The North Star (1 1/2 minutes) Astronomy (1 minute) *Have students record important facts as they view. Share when finished. 2. Have students open Paint. Students will create a constellation, name it, and type at least one fact learned from the videos. 3. Print and save to H drive.
3rd Lesson 4	Objective: Students will learn about cyber safety. Standards: 3-5.DC.1. discuss scenarios involving acceptable and unacceptable uses of technology (e.g., file-sharing, social networking, text messaging, cyber bullying, plagiarism) 3-5.DC.2. recognize issues involving ethical use of information (e.g., copyright adherence, source citation) 3-5.DC.3. describe precautions surrounding personal safety that should be taken when online 3-5.DC.4. identify the types of personal information that should not be given out on the Internet (name, address, phone number, picture, school name) Vocabulary: Internet Safety, Cyber Bullying Anticipatory Set & Teaching Input/Modeling: 1. 3rd Lesson 7	Focus: Word/Inserting Objects/Adding Text/Animal Families 1. Model how to insert objects, add text to the objects, and change the color 2. Students will go to the Enchanted Learning Site and create a poster about one animal family (mammal, reptile, amphibian, fish, bird, insect).
3rd Lesson 8	Students complete one mission in Type To Learn to increase keyboarding skills. They access the PBS Arthur Comic Creator to create a comic with a beginning, middle, and end. Print. or Students will create an interactive PowerPoint that will be used to help students study thier Social Studies vocabulary.	PowerPoint Template
3rdLesson 9	Have students choose one topic from the list that says, "Create a descriptve sentence by adding more details using Word." A page will open in Word. They follow the directions on the page to create a descriptive sentence. Have them insert a clip art picture at the bottom of the page and then print. If there is extra time, they may choose an activity from my Student Links page.
3rd Lesson 10	"Turkeys With Dressing" 2 week lesson Week 1: Students will design a turkey in Paint showing a career they might be interested in and Save. Week 2: Students will insert the picture into PowerPoint and insert a speech bubble. They will type a descritpive paragraph describing the career the turkey is dressed as. 3rd Lesson 14	Students will use PowerPoint to insert a photo of themselves and a speech bubble telling what Christmas means to them. The speech bubble will read, "Christmas is..." Students will record their voices reading the content of the speech bubble.	Example Use this image for PPT background:
3rd Lesson 15		Alternate Lesson: Students will create an online gingerbread cookie at: http://www.theoworlds.com/christmas/ Copy a screen shot and open in Paint and save it. Make all screenshots into a movie using Movie Maker. Students will read their paragraph and classmates will try to guess which egg is theirs based on the description!

3rd Lesson 29	Multiplication.com Teach students how to form collaborative teams to race with the Grand Prix game.
3rd Lesson 30	Week 1: Students will create a character using the Scholastic Character Scrapbook application. Students will brainstorm ten character traits to describe the character. Print and save for next week. Week 2: Students will use Word to type a story about the character using the list of traits as a motivational device. Students will learn how to format their Word doc to landscape, two columns, and how to add a heading. Learn how to save to H drive.

Little Bird Tales Week 1: Students will work in groups of 3-4 and use the digital camera to take photos of geometrical objects around the school. Print and use this check list Week 2: Students will upload the photos to Little Bird Tales and add captions to describe the geometrical objects. Add voice. Week: 3 Share stories. 3rd Lesson 36	Review of Word. KWL Activity 3rd Grade Video: Plant Life Cycles: United Streaming Video (20 min) 1. Students will use Word to review their keyboarding skills as they take notes on a video. 2. Have students type title Plants, The Magic School Bus Gets Programmed, or Volcanoes and any information they know. They may type a paragraph or bullted list. Insert a picture. 3. While watching the Discovery United Streaming video clip, they take notes in Word. 4. Save and Print.
3rd Lesson 37	Read: A Home For Hermit Crab 1. Use Word to type a paragraph comparing a hermit crab changing shells to a student moving to fourth grade. 2. Copy and Paste the shell to the left into Paint and decorate it's shell. Insert into Word to go with writing. Optional: Possibly put together into a collaborative PPT.	Alternate Lesson: Digital Photography Students will photograph signs of spring and create a PPT illustrating their photos.

New Lesson	Objective Students will learn about using QR codes. They will create a QR code for an assigned date to create an, On The Day in History Calendar. Standards Vocabulary QR Codes, Anticipatory Set & Teaching Input/Modeling: Model How to create a QR code along with Fact Monster's On This Day in History website. Activity: 1. Assign each student a date. 2. Have students go to: http://www.factmonster.com/dayinhistory 3. They choose their assigned date to learn facts about their assigned day. Have students make a pdf using this template of their assigned day: On This Day Word Doc I will publish them to the internet. Next week have them go to the website where their doc is published. 4. They copy the website address. 5. To create the QR code students go to: http://www.qrstuff.com/ 6. Paste in the website address, generate the QR code, and Save it to Pictures File. 7. Open Word. Insert QR code, type your date, type your name, and Print. 8. Assemble each QR code on a calendar. Have student scan the codes to learn. Assessment: Teacher Observation

5th	Week 1: Watch Paint review tutorial 2007 Watch Symmetrical Design Video 2007 How to use Paint 2010 basics! How to paint a symmetrical design with Paint 2010 Students will create a symmetrical design. Click here for directions. Week 2: Students will write a simile to go with their symmetrical design. They will create one slide in PPT and then save to the H and N drives. 1. Show symmetrical design examples: 2. Show students how to insert their design from last week into PowerPoint. Demonstrate how to type the simile. 3. Students complete assignment and save to H drive and N drive (shared drive). Print.

Lesson 3

Kindergarten	Watch how to use Paint Basics 2007 How to use Paint 2010 basics! Model and practice logging on. Model how to click and double click. Open Paint program. As I model how to draw various shapes, lines, and text, students will copy what I do in the Paint program. Let students explore on own. Model how to Print.
1st	Read: "Ten Apples Up on Top." How to use Paint 2010 basics! Either upload a picture of each student and have students copy and paste their picture into Paint (if photos aren't available, then have them draw a face. Draw an apple and copy and paste it to the top of their head. Add a text box that says, "____ apples up on top." Add name to text box. Minimize and play game. Teach how to save one on one while others are playing game. Kidspiration: Students will use Kidspiration to make a web showing the four seasons. They will use the writing tool to then type one sentence about each season. They will learn how to print.
2nd	Read: "If You Take A Mouse To School." Have students copy and paste a picture of the Mouse into the Paint program. Paint something that the Mouse from the story might ask for. Add a text box that names what was painted. Add name to text box. Minimize and play Carnival Countdown. Teach how to save one on one while others are playing game.
3rd	Students will learn about constellations and create thier own. See example below: 1. Kindergarten	Read: "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom." Students will then use the Paint program to draw a palm tree and add letter to the picture as if they are running up the tree. Kindergarten	Students will listen to poem: Rudolph Rudolph! Students will design a reindeer in Paint by adding antlers, coloring in the reindeer and adding color to the nose. Teacher will need to open the picture to the right in Paint for students and save for them when finished/ Put the completed pics into Movie Maker. Next week record student voices reading Rudolph Rudolph!
1st	Students will listen to The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. Students will design a gingerbread cookie in Paint. Copy and paste the picture to the right into Paint. Use the tools in Paint to decorate a cookie. Print. Cut out and color.
2nd	Students will design an ornament in Paint. Copy and Paste the picture to the right into Paint. Use the Paint tools to decorate. Print. Have students cut out and glue to a green square piece of construction paper. Put their name on the back. Students write a paragraph describing the details in the ornament. Assemble the ornaments into the shape of a tree. Hang paragraphs next to the tree. Have students read the paragraph and try to guess which ornament the description goes with.
