Use Zoho.com
This is not an app.  It is an online application that works in Safari on your iPad.  It can also be used on your desktop as well.  You can upload Word docs to Zoho and edit them.  It allows you to import PowerPoint shows and view them, however you cannot edit PowerPoints.  You can use Zoho to create Zoho shows from your desktop and view them on the iPad.

Go to Zoho.com and register for an account.  I reccommend registering from the desktop.

Have participants practice importing a Word doc into Zoho.

Go to your ipad and either scan the QR code to the right or go to Safari and type zoho.com into the search bar.

Sign in on the iPad.  Learn how to open your Word doc or create a new doc.

The Zoho Docs app only allows viewing of docs, spreadsheets, presentations.  The Soho Showmote app is only for viewing  presentations.  Editing can only be done on the website.
